CILLA - The Game - Introduction
Big girls, little boys, straight-A students, struggling rascals, portly slugs, miniature major leaguers, some from here and some from there. Labels ] and lines blur, if not vanish, when half-a-thousand kids share a field of grass on summer Saturdays. They play baseball, a simple game with a simple object.
But between pitches they connect with each other and a few adults who care, often stumbling up something special. They work to improve, and do. They learn that failure is not fatal, and maybe that winning not always the measure of success. Scores fade fast, and the heroes won’t last, but memories of friends made, struggles and laughter will never dim.
That’s Little League.
